Greetings {{Name}},

Let me first thank you for your continued support

As you know, the Startup India Association team, chaired by Mr Mahendra Swarup, works very hard on publishing our research and setting up partnerships in the Indian startup eco-system. We value your support - please let us know of issues you have with this email.

We want to take this opportunity to tell you about some of our initiatives and request your input on some projects that have been launched -
  • Given our views on 'Angel Tax' we will be forwarding our recommendation to the Finance Ministry. Thank you if you've already provided your input on our survey. We have included the survey in this update also.
  • Shortly we will launch two new initiatives -
    • a group health insurance plan for organizations in the startup ecosystem.
    • cyber risk management services that some members find critical to their business.
  • Our friends at Venture Gurukool organized the highly successful Global Connects event in collaboration with Beluga Global. This Indo-China meet adds to the success of our Investment Seminar to China. The section below has the details.
  • Some members of our community have applied for collaborative projects provided by our partner (Collaboration Capital). These projects are with corporations based in France. The updated list of projects is given in our post because this is a valuable tool to develop business and innovative solutions.
  • One of our international partners (BESCO) is helping organize the WebIT event in Sofia, Bulgaria.
As usual, our partners are waiting to help you with initiatives like Funding, Procurement and Travel.

Our friends at Venture Gurukool (our funding partner) organized the Global Connects India 2019 event in association with BelugaGlobal, The event was a great opportunity to interact with Chinese Venture Capitalists, Strategic Investors and Internet Giants and over 500 people from the Indian and Chinese ecosystems attended. This Indo-China meet added to the success of our Investment Seminar in China.

Our article has more details but the event had many informative presentations from major Chinese internet companies like Facebook and Huaweii Cloud and a few Fireside chats like the one with Mr Benny Chen (Founder, BACE Capital) and Mr Mahendra Swarup (Founder, Venture Gurukool) on opportunities in the Indian startup ecosystem for Chinese companies.

Projects in collaboration with French Corporations

Startup India Association and Collaboration Capital have partnered for projects where our community collaborates with corporations based in France (many are MNCs). The list of projects have been updated. Please let us know of your interest
.
Their application is pretty simple - section on venture's key skills and an optional section on your suggestions for this project - optional but I recommend this section be filled because lots of successful applications have it.

Another piece of good news - these projects are free for startups and small businesses.

Given the popularity of these projects we are thinking of starting some in collaboration with companies based in India. Would you be interested in that?
List of Collaborative Projects

Our friends at BESCO (Bulgarian Startup Association) are organizing the WebIT Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria.

As a supporter, Startup India Association might be able to work out a free ticket if you let us know of your interest in attending.

BESCO is one of our international partnerships. They are a great organisation to join since Bulgaria is probably one of the fastest growing startup ecosystems in Europe and being startup friendly it is probably the easiest way to expand into the European market.
