Coronavirus Advisory

India will lift the lockdown soon but they havent done it yet. Request everyone to follow the rules and guidelines to prevent the spread of this pandemic.

UPDATE: Another interesting read on why VC funds dont fund your startup – thought this is also important information for our member base along with the ‘reading list’ given below.

India is getting close to lifting the lockdown but a few are already acting like there are no restrictions and arent paying attention to the rules and guidelines. We hope everyone is keeping safe and the situation with rising cases improves soon. We will beat this virus but we need to continue following the rules. Please take another look at our advisory and follow government guidelines.

Focus Area – Reports on Startup Ecosystem

Recently read an interesting article that repeats what our advisory says – this might be a good time to build your business. The author has an interesting take that startups are challenged by this pandemic to find funding, experienced team members and solutions to pressing problems but this is less of a problem for startups that are being boot-strapped or are in early stages of product development while there is no shortage of pain-points that need to be addressed. Focus on your operations !!

After our advisory was circulated our friends at BRINC reminded us of a few more things startups can do during this tough time. We are overloaded with content over the last few months but this is a great time to catchup on some of the reports that have been published:

Focus Area – Employee Retention

We are also working on how the startup ecosystem can retain its most important asset – employees. The team understands that startups have been forced to reduce headcount to reduce their expenditure. Startups can prevent this and the irreparable damage this causes to their brand name and reputation by seeing our Chairman and government representatives talk of the many schemes to support the startup ecosystem during these trying times.

Help your employees by providing insurance cover in the unfortunate case of hospitalization. Even the Ministry of Home Affairs had sent a guideline mandating companies operating during the lockdown cover employees with Health Insurance. We had partnered with the insurance experts at Antworks Insurance Broking to provide affordable options to achieve this. Some of our supporters have already benefited from these plans, including our COVID-19 specific one.  Details are given on our website.

Some of the articles linked here are pretty old emails.
